The celebrations, held in the event hall of the Indian Cultural Center (ICC) were attended by members of the community and Mission officials. It was chaired by the Ambassador who highlighted some of the initiatives of the government such as, MADAD and Know India Program. Two cultural programs – a Kathak fusion and a Jugalbandi were also performed, giving a festive look to the event.

The Pravasi Bharatiya Divas (PBD) 2016 organized by the Consulate General of India, Hong Kong saw presence of eminent members of the Indian community in Hong Kong and about twenty community associations. Mr. Ramakant Agrawal presented a contribution of
Rs. 25 lakh towards “Namami Gange” (Clean Ganga project) under the IDF-OI. Initiatives undertaken by Government such as conversion of PIO to OCI, doing away with redundant paperwork requirement for consular services etc. were commended.
