Briefing for foreign missions resident in New Delhi organised by the Ministry of External Affairs

  • A briefing for foreign missions resident in New Delhi was organised by the Ministry of External Affairs today on the forthcoming "MOVE: A Global Mobility Summit” scheduled for 7 – 8 September 2018 in New Delhi.
  • Shri Amitabh Kant, CEO of NITI Aayog gave a brief background to the Summit which aims to achieve shared, connected and zero-emission mobility. Shri T.S. Tirumuti, Secretary (ER), MEA chaired the briefing session and Shri Anil Srivastava, Director General, DMEO [Development Monitoring and Evaluation Office] in NITI Aayog gave a presentation to the foreign diplomats.
  • The principal themes of the MOVE Summit are (a) asset utilization and services, (b) electrification and alternative energy, (c) reinventing public transit, (d) logistics and goods transport and (e) data analytics and mobility. The two-day event is expected to bring together stakeholders to engage towards a public interest framework for the global mobility agenda. Participation would include government ministers, international and Indian corporate leaders, inter-governmental organisations, academic & think tanks, practitioners, innovators & start-ups and the media. Besides the inauguration, there would be separate sessions with CEOs, Mayors, Ministers & Governors and high level government officials from Central and State governments.
