On the visit of a team of senior IAEA officials

A team of senior IAEA officials comprising Mr. Olli Heinonen, Deputy Director General (Safeguards), Mr. Vilmos Cserveny, Director (External Relations and Policy Coordination), Mr. Johanne Rautenbach, Director (Legal) and Mr. Herman Nackartes, Director (Safeguard Operations) met an Indian delegation today comprising officials from Dept. of Atomic Energy and Ministry of External Affairs. Indian Ambassador to Vienna also participated in these discussions.

They held useful and productive technical discussions on concepts relating to India Specific Safeguards emanating from the Indo-US Joint Statement of 18 July 2005. It was agreed that the two sides will meet again at a mutually convenient date to continue these discussions.
