MINISTER’S VISIT TO SRI LANKA
*151. SHRI ANUBHAV MOHANTY:
Will the Minister of EXTERNAL AFFAIRS be pleased to state:
(a) whether the Minister has made an official visit to Sri Lanka in the recent past;
(b) if so, whether the projects undertaken by India in that country were also taken up for discussion during the visit;
(c) if so, which were the projects discussed; and
(d) the details of all the projects that India has taken up in that country?

STATEMENT REFERRED TO IN REPLY TO PARTS (a) TO (d) OF THE RAJYA SABHA STARRED QUESTION NO. 151 REGARDING "MINISTER’S VISIT TO SRI LANKA” FOR ANSWER ON 16.03.2017.
(a) My last visit to Sri Lanka was in February 2016 to co-chair the Ninth Meeting of the India-Sri Lanka Joint Commission in Colombo.
(b) The Joint Commission deliberated on the entire gamut of the multi-faceted bilateral relations, including projects undertaken by India in Sri Lanka.
(c) The projects discussed during the meeting covered diverse sectors such as housing, livelihood creation, healthcare and services, education, infrastructure, energy and transport. Projects supporting rehabilitation and resettlement of the internally displaced
persons also figured in the talks.
(d) The details of the projects, completed and ongoing, are enumerated in the enclosed list.ANNEXURE
