INDIAN CITIZEN MISSING FROM IRAQ
2263. SHRI NARAYAN LAL PANCHARIYA:
Will the Minister of EXTERNAL AFFAIRS be pleased to state:
(a) the details of efforts made by Government during the last few months to trace Indian citizens missing from Iraq since June, 2014;
(b) the details regarding the number of such missing people; and
(c) whether any of the missing citizens is from Rajasthan and if so, the details thereof?

(a) & (b) The Government has been making all possible efforts to trace the 39 Indian workers missing in Iraq. Efforts are currently underway to obtain proof of their being alive or dead, including by rendering assistance to the Iraqi Authorities in matching of DNA samples of close relatives with the mortal remains being found in mass graves in Iraq.
(c) As per the records, none of these 39 missing Indian citizens is from the State of Rajasthan.
