H.E. Dr. Mohan Kumar, Ambassador of India, made a keynote address on Make in India - Defence at the 12th symposium organized by the European Club for Countertrade & Offset (ECCO) on June 15, 2016 at Paris-Nord Villepinte as part of the international defence & security exhibition ‘EUROSATORY 2016’. Secretary, Defence Production, Ministry of Defence, Mr. Ashok Kumar Gupta, also spoke at the symposium which was attended by over 100 European and international defence sector offset stakeholders.

Indian Professionals Association, Paris organized its Annual Day on Saturday, 11 June 2016 at the prestigious Sciences-Po Amphitheatre Jean Moulin where a conference entitled “2025 A Peep into the Future” was held. Ambassador of India His Excellency Dr. Mohan Kumar inaugurated the Conference with a keynote address . The Conference had presentations by Ambassador himself, as well as Ms Fabienne-Goux Baudiment, CEO of proGective, Research Centre for Futures Studies, Mr Mandee...p Jawa, Consultant, Emerging Technologies, PwC, Mr Jean-Yves Le Gall, President, CNES (The French Space Agency), Mr Vakisasai Ramany, Senior Vice President, Dev. New Nuclear Projects & Engg, EDF, Mr Alon Rozen, Dean, Ecole des Ponts Business School, and Mr Cyril Garcia,Head of Capgemini Consulting.
The Conference was moderated by Dr. Suman Modwell, Emeritus Professor of Business Policy and Member, Supervisory Board, Ecoles des Ponts Business School and Mr. Prem Puri, Management Consultant & Visiting Professor Business Technology. The presentation of the members were followed by an interactive questions and answers session. Earlier, Mr. Jagdish Bhasker, IPA President, welcomed all to the event. On 11 June, ‘Antharrashtriya Sahitya Kala Manch’, Muradabad, India organised its 32nd Annual Hindi Literary Conference in INALCO, Paris on the topic ‘Globalisation of Hindi’. Around 60 Professors of Hindi language from India, France, Switzerland and Italy and Embassy officials participated in the Conference. Dr. Jaypal Singh Vyasth, Hon’ble Member of Legislative Council, Uttarpradesh graced the occasion as Chief Guest. Dr. Mahesh Diwakar, Founder President of the Association urged the participants to promote the use of Hindi language. Participants resolved to promote Hindi as a UN official language. Embassy officials expressed hope that the Regional Hindi Conference’ scheduled to be held on 14 September in Paris would play a significant role in promotion of Hindi language in Europe.

An interaction session with the representatives of Indian community associations of France was held at Embassy on 10 June. The Session was chaired by Ambassador of India His Excellency Dr. Mohan Kumar and attended by more than 50 representatives. During the meeting various issues related with the Indian community in France were discussed and the Ambassador requested them to actively participate in the Socioeconomic development of India.
The Tamil Community of France organised an interaction session with Ambassador of India His Excellency Dr. Mohan Kumar on 11 June in Paris. The event was attended by a large number of representatives of the Tamil Community Organisations. The event focused on discussing the issues related with the Tamil Community in France and ways to resolve it.

The Embassy hosted a launch for François Gautier’s new book ‘Apprendre à souffler : Les secrets de respiration du Yoga’ on Friday 10 June. The book describes different Yoga asanas and their beneficial effects on health. In his address, Ambassador, His Excellency Dr. Mohan Kumar emphasised on the importance of Yoga in the modern life style. Mr. François Gautier and Swami Kailasananda from ‘Le Centre de Yoga Sivananda de Paris’ explained different styles of Yoga. Ambassador has invited the guests to participate in the International Yoga Day celebrations to be organised in Paris at La Villette on 18 June.
