TRAVEL ADVISORY FOR MYANMAR

Will the Minister of EXTERNAL AFFAIRS be pleased to state :-
(a) whether the Government has recently issued an advisory for Indian nationals travelling to Myanmar in view of the desperate security situation there;
(b) if so, the details thereof;
(c) whether the Government further advised against inter-state travel by road only and if so, the details thereof; and
(d) whether the Government has also advised to all Indian nationals living in Myanmar to register themselves with the Embassy of India, Yangon to facilitate any measures that need to be taken in a situation of emergency and if so, the details thereof?

(a to d) In view of the evolving security situation in Myanmar, an advisory was issued requesting all Indian nationals to avoid non-essential and inter state travel. Those already living in Myanmar have been advised to take precaution and avoid travel to the regions affected by violence. A copy of advisory is at Annexure .
Indian nationals living in Myanmar have been requested to register with the Embassy of India, Yangon in order to provide them assistance, in case needed.
