ANSWER
THE MINISTER OF STATE IN THE MINISTRY OF EXTERNAL AFFAIRS
(SHRI KIRTI VARDHAN SINGH)

(a) The list of total number of passport applications received by Regional Passport Offices (RPOs) in Rajasthan from 2017 to 2025 (till 24th November 2025), year/month/district-wise is given in Annexure – I.PDF file that opens in new window. To know how to open PDF file refer Help section located at bottom of the site.

(b) The details of the passports issued by RPOs in Rajasthan from 2017 to 2025 (till 24th November 2025), year/month/district-wise is given in Annexure – II.PDF file that opens in new window. To know how to open PDF file refer Help section located at bottom of the site.

(c & d) Pendency in issuance of Passports is maintained RPO wise. At present, there are approximately 5214 and 888 passport applications pending under RPO Jaipur and RPO Kota respectively for the various reasons namely incomplete document/information from applicant side, policy cases, pending police verification and shortage of manpower.

Due to the rise in demand and pendency in issuance of passport, the Ministry has been working continuously to speed up passport issuance and meet high or seasonal demand for passports by taking various steps including increasing the number of daily appointments and organising special drives on weekends. Staff from Ministry and other passport offices are also being deployed to clear the pendency as part of the special drive. Also, walk-in appointments are given for RPO back office for expeditiously clearing pending files.

(e) Considering the future growth projection in Passport applications, upgradation and scalability of each PSK have been planned in the PSP V2.0 and accordingly, infrastructural and technical upgradation of PSKs were taken up. In August 2025, PSK, Udaipur has been shifted to a larger premise with upgraded infrastructure and scalability to cater the needs of passport applicants in the region.
