RACIST ATTACKS ON INDIANS IN ISRAEL

Will the Minister of EXTERNAL AFFAIRS be pleased to state:
(a) whether the Government has taken note of the premeditated attack on Indian workers in Israel on 16 February 2026, if so, the details thereof;
(b) whether the Government intends to provide compensation and legal aid to the victims, if so, the details thereof and if not, the reasons therefor;
(c) whether the Government has formally raised the issue with Israeli authorities to prevent further racist attacks against Indians, if so, the details thereof; and
(d) the details of the measures taken by the Government to ensure the safety and security of Indian nationals in Israel?
ANSWER

(a to d) Government are aware of an incident related to an unprovoked attack on two Indian workers by some assailants that occurred on December 16, 2025 in Israel. The Embassy of India raised the matter with the Israeli Ministry of Foreign Affairs and actively pursued it with the local Israeli authorities. The local police authorities conducted a speedy investigation that led to the arrest of the suspects.
The Government of India accords the highest priority to the safety, security and well-being of Indian nationals in Israel. The Indian Embassy in Tel Aviv provides dedicated assistance to Indians in distress and actively coordinates with relevant Israeli authorities to ensure timely intervention and resolution. The Embassy also remains in regular contact with Indian nationals in Israel to ensure their well-being.
