ANSWER
THE MINISTER OF STATE IN THE MINISTRY OF EXTERNAL AFFAIRS
(SHRI KIRTI VARDHAN SINGH)

(a) to (c): The Joint Vision for an India-Maldives Comprehensive Economic and Maritime Security Partnership was adopted by India and Maldives on 07 October 2024, during the State Visit of the President of Maldives to India. While adopting the Joint Vision, the leaders of India and Maldives decided to work in the areas of political exchanges, development cooperation, trade & economic cooperation, digital and financial cooperation, energy cooperation, health cooperation, defence & security cooperation, capacity building & training, people-to-people linkages, and cooperation at regional and multilateral fora. It was also decided to constitute a new High-Level Core Group (HLCG) to oversee the progress in the implementation of this vision document. Accordingly, two meetings of the India-Maldives HLCG have taken place till date. In these meetings, both sides explored avenues to strengthen the India-Maldives bilateral cooperation in the above mentioned areas. The next HLCG meeting will be convened on mutually agreed dates.
