ANSWER
THE MINISTER OF STATE IN THE MINISTRY OF EXTERNAL AFFAIRS
(SHRI KIRTI VARDHAN SINGH)

(a & b) In response to the Pahalgam terror attack perpetrated by Pakistan-sponsored terrorists on 22 April 2025, India took a number of diplomatic steps and launched Operation Sindoor targeting terrorist infrastructure in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Jammu and Kashmir. On 10 May 2025, the Director General of Military Operations (DGMO) of Pakistan approached his Indian counterpart to request for cessation of firing and military activities, which was agreed to later that day. This understanding was arrived at directly between the two DGsMO.

(c) On 08 May 2025, an all-party meeting was convened to brief leaders of different political parties regarding Operation Sindoor. Subsequently, Hon’ble Members of the Parliamentary Standing Committee on External Affairs and members of the all-party delegations visiting various countries were also apprised of India’s response under Operation Sindoor to Pakistan sponsored cross-border terrorism.
