Will the Minister of EXTERNAL AFFAIRS be pleased to state:

(a) whether the Ministry proposes to collaborate with foreign Governments for skill recognition agreements benefiting workers from Odisha; and

ANSWER
THE MINISTER OF STATE IN THE MINISTRY OF EXTERNAL AFFAIRS
(SHRI PABITRA MARGHERITA)

(a to b) The Government of India has entered into MoUs/Migration and Mobility Partnership Agreements (MMPAs) with various countries. These agreements aim to facilitate the safe, orderly and regular movement of skilled and highly skilled workers, students, professionals, researchers and business people from India to abroad. A key feature of the mobility agreements is the recognition of skills in the host country. It focuses on streamlining the verification and mutual recognition of professional qualifications to facilitate legal labour mobility. These agreements aim to bridge skill gaps in destination countries while offering international work experience to Indian professionals, especially in high-demand, labour-intensive sectors.
