THE MINISTER OF STATE IN THE MINISTRY OF EXTERNAL AFFAIRS
(SHRI KIRTI VARDHAN SINGH)
(a & b) Government has taken several steps to make the Kailash Manasarovar Yatra more accessible and the process more transparent, while ensuring the safety and well-being of the Yatris.
Since 2015, the Ministry of External Affairs has fully computerized the entire process of organizing Kailash Manasarovar Yatra, commencing with on-line application till selection of Yatris. Applicants are no longer required to send letters or fax to submit their applications or to seek information. The Yatris are selected from among the applicants through a fair, computer-generated, random and gender-balanced selection process. The feedback options available on the KMY website can be used for obtaining information, registering observations or making suggestions for further improvement.
Medical tests are conducted for the Yatris to ensure their fitness for high altitude endurance.
It is the Government’s endeavor to constantly improve the conditions for the Kailash Manasarovar Yatra.
