HUMANITARIAN ASSISTANCE TO UKRAINE

Will the Minister of External Affairs be pleased to state:
whether the Government has sent humanitarian assistance to Ukraine;
if so, the details thereof along with the nature of assistance sent to Ukraine;
whether the Government has permitted Indian and foreign firms in India to send workers and professionals to Ukraine and if so, the details thereof;
the number of workers, category-wise, who have so far been sent to the war-torn Ukraine for relief and rehabilitation works; and
whether the Government has taken any diplomatic steps/initiatives on Russia Ukraine war and if so, the details thereof?
ANSWER
THE MINISTER OF STATE IN THE MINISTRY OF EXTERNAL AFFAIRS

(a) & (b) Government of India has sent approximately 60 tonnes of humanitarian assistance to Ukraine. These include medicines, tents, blankets, tarpaulins, gloves, protective goggles, solar lamps, dignity kits and sleeping mats.
(c) & (d) As per information available with this Ministry, no such permission has been sought from the Government. In fact, India has issued advisories asking its nationals to leave Ukraine.
(e) The Government has been in touch with Russia and Ukraine at various levels. Prime Minister has spoken to the Presidents of Russia and Ukraine on multiple occasions. He has urged for immediate cessation of hostilities and return to the path of diplomacy and dialogue for resolution of the conflict. External Affairs Minister has been in constant touch with his counterparts from Russia and Ukraine for similar reasons. Foreign Secretary maintained contact with Ambassadors of Russia and Ukraine in New Delhi, while Ambassadors in Kyiv and Moscow followed up in their respective capitals.
