MOU ON ESTABLISHMENT OF A CENTRE OF EXCELLENCE IN INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY (CEIT) BETWEEN THE MINISTRY OF HIGHER EDUCATION, TRAINING AND INNOVATION OF THE GOVERNMENT OF THE REPUBLIC OF NAMIBIA AND THE MINISTRY OF EXTERNAL AFFAIRS OF THE GOVERNMENT OF THE REPUBLIC OF INDIA |
Acknowledging the broad potential for cooperation between India and Namibia, in the Information and Communication Technology areas, it has been decided set up a Centre of Excellence in Information Technology in Namibia. The Centre will have requisite infrastructure and academic material to train up to a maximum of 500 (five hundred) students per year for a period of two years. The Namibian side with identify a Deputy Centre Head who will after the first year of operation, take over as Centre Head and ensure sustainability of the project post hand-over to Namibia. The Government of the Republic of India will also be financially and otherwise responsible for necessary computer hardware and software required for setting up CEIT; Deputation of one (1) Centre Head and two (2) trainers proficient in the English language for a period of two years; and Two (2) year training of Master Trainers, who will be the Training Managers responsible for the overall training upon hand-over of the Management operations of CEIT to Namibia. The setting up of the CEIT is likely to galvanize the ICT sector cooperation between India and Namibia. |

MOU BETWEEN NAMIBIA INSTITUTE OF PUBLIC ADMINISTRATION AND MANAGEMENT (NIPAM) OF THE REPUBLIC OF NAMIBIA AND INDIAN INSTITUTE OF MANAGEMENT AHMEDABAD (IIMA) OF THE REPUBLIC OF INDIA CONCERNING TECHNICAL COOPERATION IN THE AREA OF CAPACITY BUILDING OF PUBLIC OFFICIALS |
The MOU entails a broad framework of cooperation in the areas of customized capacity building; public governance and leadership; public administration; research activities; exchange of best practices and cooperative activities jointly decided. IIMA was established in 1961 as an autonomous body by the Government of India in collaboration with the State Government of Gujarat. Its mission is to transform India and other countries through generating and propagating new ideas of global significance based on research and creation of risk-taking leader-managers who are agents of change. There are deep convergence of objectives and assisted outcomes between the activities of the NIPAM and IIMA, which are sought to be institutionalized within the framework of this MOU. |
